Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces and reshapes the labia minora (inner lips) and, in some cases, the labia majora (outer lips). Many women choose this surgery to relieve discomfort from enlarged or uneven labia that may cause irritation during exercise, intimacy, or when wearing tight clothing. Others pursue labiaplasty for cosmetic reasons, aiming for a more symmetrical and refined appearance.

How is A Labiaplasty performed?

Labiaplasty is typically performed using one of two methods:

  • Trim Technique – The surgeon removes excess tissue along the edge of the labia, creating a neater, smaller contour.

  • Wedge Technique – A V-shaped section of tissue is removed from the central part of the labia, preserving the natural outer edge.

The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Dissolvable sutures are used, and the entire surgery generally takes 1–2 hours.

Post labiaplasty Care

Manage Swelling & Discomfort – Some swelling and soreness are normal for the first week; use cold compresses and pain relief as prescribed.

Activity Restrictions – Avoid tight clothing, strenuous activity, cycling, and sexual intercourse for 4–6 weeks.

Incision Care – Keep the area clean and dry, pat gently after bathing, and follow your surgeon’s hygiene instructions closely.
